How To Deal When Two Guys Like You

I need advice on guys. Last week, I had TWO guys admit that they like me within days of each other. Now I don’t know what to do, especially as they get jealous of each other when I show “attention” (when really, all I’m doing is chatting) to one but not the other. I don’t know who I like more. What should I do?!

First of all, these guys need to chill. Neither of them have any right getting jealous about you chatting with the other one. You’re not in a relationship with either of them, and so you can do whatever you want.

Second: you need to figure out exactly what it is that you want. Even if you’re not doing it on purpose, stringing along two people will get you nowhere. In the end, it will make one of them, or maybe even both of them, really angry with you. So, you need to do some serious thinking to figure out which of these guys you like better.

You can do that by getting to know both of them. Speak to them privately, when the other one isn’t around to butt in or get angry with you. Talk through texting, on the phone, Facebook messages… whatever. Try to go on a first date with both of them (separately, of course) so that you can have some alone time in a more romantic setting. Don’t feel like you’re doing something wrong. You’re single, and playing the field is perfectly fine as long as you’re honest about it. In other words, don’t tell one of them that you’re exclusive if you’re not.

It can be really difficult to choose between two people, not only because you don’t want to make the wrong choice, but also because you don’t want to hurt anyone. Put their feelings aside for a moment and focus on who makes you happiest. Whoever that is, give him a chance. Explain to the other guy that while you care about him a lot, you just don’t feel that way. Once you pick one person, end things completely with the other. Don’t try to keep him around as “backup” or anything like that.

And if you don’t like either of them? Tell them that. Just say that while you like them as friends, you don’t feel anything more than that. Tell them you hope they can understand how you feel.

In the end, you need to follow your heart, as corny as that may sound. Do what feels right for you, because that’s what is most important here.
